Replaced the oil cooler o-rings on the RX-7 yesterday in an attempt to at least reduce the amount of oil puddling in the garage every time I get back from a drive (and dripping in other people’s driveways, the parking lot at work, etc). Went out today to fill up the gas tank and went for a short drive, got home and parked over some fresh cardboard.
If anything, it’s leaking more now.
Once it cools off (aka tomorrow) I’ll make sure everything is still tight I guess. Don’t really want to crank down on that banjo fitting much more (would be very bad to break that bolt), though I’m not sure where it’s leaking from. It might not have even been leaking from the cooler in the first place (it was all so oily there was no way to tell, plus the cooler is a common leak). I know there are dowel pin leaks, but this is ending up on the floor under the cooler/line area. The drip from the engine itself is a few inches away.
Might be a good time to invest in whoever makes oil-dry.

Yeah, I need to clean it up in any case (helping find the leak would be a nice benefit) but if I drive it to the nearby self-serve carwash it’ll be hotter than I’d want to spray water on (plus then when it doesn’t start I have a problem), and I have slight concern about rinsing that volume of oil and engine de-greaser into my front yard - will probably kill the grass.

Scoop up then throw in garbage or ask local pickup company where they want it.
